Like throwing a proper temper tantrum, making a quality wine involves passion, foot stomping, and sulking in the cellar until you finally get what you want. Give yourself a tasteful time-out with today's Groupon: for $30, you get a private tasting and cellar tour at Lynfred Winery in Roselle (a $120 value).

The state's first winery to open after Prohibition, Lynfred Winery is overseen by Fred Koehler, who opened the venture with his wife, Lynn, in 1979. Lynfred's 24,000-square-foot facility features a tasting room accented by stained glass and velveted walls, as well as a huge, thick-walled cellar for turning fresh young juice into wise wines that dazzle drinkers with their tales of buying candy for a nickel. With today's deal, guests can bring up to 10 friends for an informative tour of the grounds followed by a private wine-cellar tour and guided tasting. Learn about the process of producing palate-pleasing potables such as Lynfred's Semillon Reserve '06, Riesling '06, or Alicante Bouschet '08, and wash down your new knowledge using the winery’s own stellar sippables. No cheeses are included with this tasting.
