The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in… Possibly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in… This was a last minute booking after a missed flight in JKF as the only hotel on offer. The stench of dirt and weed hit us first. The customer service at the front desk was nil. Our room was filthy and stinky. A former guest had thoughtfully carved his or her name into the headboard. The furniture was chipped and drawn on. When I asked for a new room I was told there wasn’t one. I protested and was shown one even worse. Random men were checking in with no luggage at 1am when we did and when one of our bags disappeared and we asked to see cctv our request was dismissed out of hand. I was gutted. All of our holiday buys were in it. Breakfast. What a joke. Cardboard like muffins and bagels tossed into a box from which you helped yourself by rummaging. No cooler for the butter and cream cheese which was no doubt put out again and again. The chap on reception who I guess is the manager was rude and unpleasant from the start. The list of ‘don’t dos’ that were up on his desk said it all. No candles or petals or wet beds? No using outdoor space, no butts in the toilets. The sort of guest that might even consider any of these wouldn’t be likely to be checking in very tired family. I asked the manager if he honestly would put a friend or family member in one of his rooms. He didn’t answer me.

Don't Do It to Yourself! A picture may say a thousand words, but pictures can also deceive... and any pictures of the rooms at Anchor Inn are an absolute touchup job of the real thing. The paint is peeling from the ceiling, smells of urine in the room, old blankets, pillows and mattresses, etc etc. I paid more for a room with a larger tub and steam room. When I arrived, I was told that the steam room wasn't working. It was clear that it hadn't worked in a looooong time, but, of course, they still advertised it. And the breakfast they advertise... it isn't breakfast... it was stale non-NYC bagels and some cheap muffins. The best part of this hotel was the Starbucks across the street. All in all, maybe the owner is genuinely doing his best... but can't keep up with it. But, he/she certainly isn't lowering the prices. Worst part... the smell in the room. I don't get allergies very often, but within ten minutes of walking into our room, I was really feeling it.

Terrible hotel DON'T book Terrible location and the hotel staff member tried to deny me service because he claimed that Expedia over booked the hotel. A few minutes of asking him to please help me out since I already paid for a room through "hotels.com" and that since it was midnight and there was no way I would've been able to find another room he "miraculously" was able to find a room for me. The rooms are old and have not been kept up. And while waiting for the associate to find me a room I witnessed what appeared to be a prostitute and her client leaving the hotel. All in all terrible hotel, terrible location, and terrible staff.

AWFUL! DON'T stay at this hotel!!! It is truly AWFUL. I do not normally write reviews. I am not someone who complains. But I am compelled to warn others after my horrible experience. Most significantly, the room (#243) has fuzzy white MOLD growing on the carpeting behind the bedstand. It was disgusting. I told the front desk, and nothing was done. I wrote to the manager, but have not heard a peep! Additionally they are advertising falsely! Their website and Priceline(where I booked my 2 night stay) both say there is a daily free breakfast and an on site fitness center, BOTH of which are CLOSED and have been since Covid began! The rooms are old, musty, tiny and the air conditioner needed a pen to turn it on, because the button was broken off. Worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. Don't book it; you will be very unhappy. Go anywhere else!!!!!
