OK for the night, but undergoing renovations We recently stayed at the HI Georgetown while visiting family around New Year. The hotel is located near the exit off I-75, but it is rather hard to find. The back of the building is visible from the I-75 south ramp onto US 62, but there’s no signage on that side of the building or at the lights. This is a fairly typical Hampton building, although older and a bit smaller than usual. It’s undergoing extensive renovations, so the lobby and common areas are a mess. But they seem to have accounted for that in the price. There are certain things I expect out of a Hampton, and the Georgetown location ticks off all the boxes well enough. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a microwave and refrigerator. There is a comfortable bed and clean bedding. TV was an older model flat-screen but worked fine. The bathroom could stand a little updating (the bathroom vanity is high and the tub is older), but it is perfectly adequate. The icemaker on our floor was broken, so I had to go up a floor to get ice. The public spaces were, as I said, a mess, particularly on the first floor. The lobby and breakfast areas were in the process of getting new flooring, and there was a lot of dust. However, they opened up additional breakfast seating in one of the first-floor rooms. The included breakfast is standard for Hampton – my only criticism was that the oatmeal was watery and undercooked. The coffee was good though, which isn’t always the case. There is a pool and a hot tub, which we didn’t use. Customer service was good, but not especially friendly. We were only there for a quick overnight and left early to get back home. The HI Georgetown may be better once the renovations are complete. For now, it is OK, particularly for a short stay, but not much more than that.

Stay Anywhere Else! Don’t go here. This is the dirtiest Hampton Inn that I have ever stayed in. Between the malfunctioning rooms, yes the plural is there for a reason, and the despondent staff this killer combination left a good night stay to be desired.

Two night stay at Hampton Inn The hotel room was very clean, the beds were OK. The hallway carpet on the second floor looked old and kinda loose in places. Really needs updating/replacing. Only stayed 2 nights over a weekend. I didn’t hear any noise and I was fairly close to the elevator. The hotel was full. I was disappointed when I went for coffee that afternoon and informed they only made coffee in the morning. Clerk told me I could make some in my room and gave me two pkgs for the coffee maker. Well, coffee from that little coffee maker is disgusting. No maid server, but not surprised, I was only there 2 nights. The soap pkgs and towels were sufficient. Morning breakfast was OK, only ate a waffle each morning. The morning coffee was good. Too bad, they only make it in the morning. Also, I had to pull TV channels up on TV screen, no listings in printed form. All in all, it was fine and I would stay there again. Haven’t looked at my credit card statement yet, but it should be correct. I did not purchase any snacks during my stay.

Ho-hum During our travels over the past years we have always enjoyed staying at Hampton Inns. I’ve notice more and more that they are getting old and in need of remodeling. The Hampton Inn in Georgetown is no exception. The decor is from the 90’s, furniture is ratty and needs a good steam cleaning. The staff was very friendly and our room very clean, just needs updating.

Disappointed in this hotel This hotel is being renovated so don’t expect much. Carpet in hallways needs replaced. Wall hooks hanging loose in the bathroom . Scrambled eggs were tasteless. I stay at Hampton Inns a lot when I travel and was very disappointed in my room and breakfast at this hotel. Staff was friendly and nice. Good location.
