Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Greensboro - East by IHG

Quiet hotel 10 mins away from busy downtown Stay here for karate tournament event for 5 days, 4 nights. Good variety of breakfast food, friendly and attentive staff. Rooms (we had 2) were clean. Humid smell in rooms due to the weather but when AC is on the smell goes away. Nice pool with fresh new paint around the patio. Quiet location with no much around just a gas station. However you are only 10 mins away from downtown and the shopping center so really not an issue for us. If you want more nightlife and food/services around you this is not the location for you. If you want to be able to rest and be more laid back this location is where to go.

BELIEVE THE POOR REVIEWS!!! The room had an unpleasant smell. There were ants in the room. One was crawling on me in the middle of the night and I found one on the pillow the next morning (photo attached). There was mold on my pillow- I'm thinking from not letting the pillow cases completely dry (photo attached). When they made my bed on the 2nd day, they put on another sheet but it had a spot on it. When I asked for more sheets, one of those sheets had spots on it too! Gross! I stayed for 2 nights and a couple of the front counter ladies were extremely nice (one was named Theresa). But the lady that worked the night shift on Mon night June 3rd had a nasty attitude & demeanor. I didn't catch her name. I won't be staying here again!

Great breakfast Pros - great beds and linens, clothesline in the tub, good water pressure, fantastic breakfast options - the breakfast staff kept everything stocked and it was great Cons - this property is a bit worn, and our room would shudder everytime my husband walked across the room. The room also shook if someone under us closed a door. Weird! Just didn't seem like a well built building. Fixtures are also a bit dated.

If you like block parties, this is your place. The partying was so....happening, we left. Little to no parking. While the actual dj/rv/tent was next door, the revelers were staying at the Holiday Inn. Would not return. Did not even see our room - we asked for a refund.

Please read horrible customer service This review is not about the hotel itself. It is strictly based off customer service. I did not stay here. I was supposed to stay May 26 -27 I made reservations in July of 2022 In February of 2023 I called to cancel has we did not need the rooms anymore. I talked to an employee name Xavier on February 19 at 435 p m. I told him I wanted to cancel my reservation. He then ask my name and tried to find my reservation. He proceeded to look and said he couldn’t find a reservation with my name. He then tried my rewards membership, my email address, my home address, my confirmation number I received by email. He still said I had no reservation. I said are you sure because I have confirmation number and I need to cancel both rooms. He said you have no reservation and I ask so I don’t need to do anything further. He said there is nothing else for you to do. On May 27 I check my bank account and I had been charged a 198 dollars a piece for both rooms I called the hotel plus the 800 number and explained what I had done. I was told by the hotel manager there was nothing she could do. The 800 number representative said because I hadn’t canceled the reservation before 6 p m on Thursday I would be charged for both rooms. I told her I called talked to Xavier on February 19 and he said I didn’t have a reservation under my name or under in other form of identification. She then said it was my fault that I didn’t cancel the reservation and they were going by their policy of I didn’t cancel by 6 p m on Thursday. I said I called and canceled with Xavier and he said I had no reservations and as far as I was concerned I thought it was canceled. So after multiple calls I’m out almost 400 dollars for rooms I didn’t use because according to their employee Xavier I never had a reservation to cancel. I will never use IHG hotels again.
