5 night stay No complaints. Everything was wonderful. Staff explained amenities, the card insert on wall that controls tech in room, etc. Great location to my work event. Thank you!

Renovated but Tired The pictures online made this hotel look new. It is not. It appears to have been renovated, but it gives off an amateur house-flipper vibe. Because it is an old building, what you’re left with is low ceilings, old doors, and weird spaces. For example, beside the bed in our room was a nook that appeared to have once been a closet, but the door no longer exists. There is already a closet (with outdated door handles) in the sink area so there isn’t really a need for two, but now it is just sort of a weird empty area. The elevator is also very small and appears to be old (think, wood paneling and fluorescent lighting) and the first time we got in, it smelled overwhelmingly like marijuana. There were also odd big puddles of water leading down the hallway toward our room when we first arrived. Two other issues were that the bed is quite hard and there is no light above the sink area – just a light built into the sink (which granted, is bright, but an overhead light would also be nice when getting ready). Plus, the light in the shower/toilet room appears to operate on a timer, as it shut off on me completely when I was showering! Our room looked out onto the front parking lot, where it appears there will soon be a highway offramp built directly beside the hotel. Now for the good: everything was clean, breakfast was plentiful (although it could have used a skim milk option instead of just whole/2%), parking is free, the general store inside the lobby was convenient, and I appreciated that they had a machine where you could fill up your water bottle with cold or hot water.

Bug bites We stayed here just for the pool so our son could swim. The floor and room we were in had a thick musty odor that required we keep the window opened. This posed danger as the screen was broken in the window and we worried our son could fall from the floor. The next morning our son had big bites on his legs. I’m solely saying the pool was fun.

Okay but a few issues This hotel was okay. Friendly staff, with the night front desk woman being really great. Location was okay, but behind a small strip Mall. The beds were ok but the pillows very lumpy. Shower was good in the bathroom. Toilet did not flush well and was noisy. I could often hear someone slushing their toilet next door early in the morning. Sound proofing wasn’t great overall but tolerable (ie. we could hear people in the hall and traffic outside) Our issues included our phone didn’t work and neither did the regular light in the washroom. So, every time we had to use the bathroom it meant a heat lamp. I notified the night front desk and was told someone would come the next day. However, when we arrive back In our room that next evening, the light was not fixed. Notified the front desk and she came into the room with a new light bulb. But, that did not work. While Some people might take 5 minute showers, I have long thick hair so it takes longer. First day I had to leave the washroom after my shower to cool down for 30 minutes. The next morning I took a cold Shower. (I was with my mom so leaving the door open was not an option) The night front desk woman suggested I speak with the manager the next day. At check out o mentioned this suggestion and said our light was not fixed as promised and how I struggled with the heat. I thought that person checked me out was the manager but she was not. She only told me that this is too bad. The pool was nice; however, there was so much chlorine that it was cloudy and it made my child’s soft hair become dry and tangled to the point we had to use special shampoo & conditoner to try to repair it. It took me 35 minutes and a lot of leave in conditioner the following day to comb through. Breakfast was a standard free breakfast and was not bad. It was very busy the 2nd day and when they say it is over at 9am, they truly mean 9am sharp. My only complaint was it was very early (6am to 9am) and there were no trays to easily bring food up to my sleeping child as many hotels offer. But I managed so this was a minor inconvenience.
