Exhausted after 12 hour trip; miserable check in experience We were moving across country. Our longest drive was Denver to St. Louis, 12 hours with our pet dog in the car. When we got to St. Louis, it was pretty late, and cold and we were exhausted. We had a reservation in advance and all we wanted to do was check in and rest. I went in to get my room set up, and the employee behind the desk was dressed in a hooded sweatshirt, seemed disoriented and definitely didn't know what he was doing. He asked me to verify my credit card a couple of times, had my reservation clipped to another person's ID and snapped at me when I asked if my dog was listed on the reservation. Then he sent us to an _occupied_ room. The TV was on and the room was clearly in use. When we returned to the desk, he acted as though this were our fault and was even more dismissive of myself and my tired family. He sent us to another room, which was 'ready' but it wasn't that clean either. We just said 'to hell with it' and went to sleep. We had another long drive ahead the next day. I had made a point of trying to find the best hotel I could in our price range, not too far off our route, that was Pet Friendly. I knew we'd be exhausted when we got there and just want a nice room with decent beds to sleep in. This hotel wasn't it at all. I was extremely unhappy with this LaQuinta experience. However, this was the only LaQuinta that was like this on our trip from Arizona to Morgantown.

Room notfresh At checkin half a cup of coffee on nightstand. Used coffee pod in coffee maker. Used soap bar in bath tub. We did not alert staff because bedding and towels appeared to be fresh, we were tired from long day of travel, carry our own toiletries and needed to get to sleep quickly.

Expected more. Didn’t meet my prior expectations with this chain. Breakfast sausage was cold eggs were extremely salty orange juice was watered down. Pulled the night stand out and there were cotton swabs, dirty Kleenex and dirt. I told the lady behind the desk and she didn’t seem to care even after seeing the picture.

Passing through with my dog Friendly staff. Kind to my dog. Clean well kept property. Could use a designated pet walk area or pet waste disposal stand with bags. All in we had a good warm night in to rest and recharge for the rest for our drive.

Decent hotel for a budget trip Pet friendly - Someone brought a large unleashed dog.. so either this is very good or very bad based on what you’re looking for. The staff was a little too casual, using what most of us would consider inappropriate language in front of guests. Bed was okay, sleep was achievable. Served its purpose but highly doubt that I’m saying here again.
