Ken Kotelly I booked a reservation a year in advance to stay at the Mentor Home Inn in Mentor, Ohio from April 6-9, 2024 as part of my stay to see the total solar eclipse, and then confirmed the reservation by phone on Saturday, March 30 a week before I planned to start my stay there. But when I arrived at Mentor Home Inn on Saturday, April 6 the woman who was working there could not find my reservation. I told her that I not only made the reservation a year in advance but that I confirmed it with an employee of Mentor Home Inn just a week before. This woman told me she still couldn't fine the reservation but that I could make the reservation on the spot, but that I would have to pay about double what I would have paid had she been able to call up the reservation that I made in advance. I told her I didn't think it was fair that I should have to pay the higher price to stay there since I made the reservation in advance. She went into the back room, made me wait several minutes, and actually called the police on me, who arrived a short time later. Apparently the woman thought I told her I wasn't going to pay the higher price to stay there even though I never told her that. I explained the situation to the police, and after they talked to the woman they all told me I either had to pay the higher price to stay there or I could not stay there. So at that point, not wanting to keep a bad situation going, I agreed to pay the higher price, but I felt totally ripped off and screwed by this, since I know I made the reservation in advance but it was by their mistake losing my reservation that I had to pay the higher price to stay there. But this wasn't the only terrible situation I encountered while I stayed there. When I arrived back at Mentor Home Inn on Monday night, April 8, the last night of my stay there, I could not get back into my room since the badge they gave to me that I used to unlock the door to my room didn't work. I went to the front office, and after several minutes the woman there went to my room but couldn't open the door as well using another badge. After about 15 minutes of waiting another woman employee was finally able to get a badge that opened the door, but it turned out the reason the badges didn't work before was because the batteries in the sensor that was supposed to unlock the door when a badge was tapped to it were dead. I was stunned by this since I felt someone who worked there should have known about this in advance. Only after several more minutes did one of the women come to my room, and eventually put new batteries into the sensor so that the badge would work to open the door, and the entire situation that night took about half an hour. As a result of these two terrible experiences during my stay at the Mentor Home Inn, I would definitely recommend that anyone who plans to stay in the Cleveland area and looks for a place to stay should NOT stay at this place. Anyone who stays at this place is going to encounter extremely poor customer service similar to the extremely poor customer service I encountered during my three-day stay there. The employees there don't know what they are doing, and anyone who stays here is going to get ripped off and pay a much higher price to stay there then they should. I am sorry that I feel this way but these are the situations I encountered at the Mentor Home Inn, and in all honesty I felt the employees there showed me terrible, horrible, and extremely poor customer service with a complete lack of ethics, values, morals, respect, responsibility, professionalism, class, consideration, conscience, integrity, and character towards me during my stay there.

Unclean, unprofessional, sub-par accommodations STAY AWAY!!! BED BUG INFESTATION!!! Staff, Tessi quite unpleasant and unprofessional. Lacked empathy. Poor customer service skills and poor home training. Lack of follow-up for requested compensation by Amanda Denning & Josh Ferra Assistant General Manager & General Manager in that order. Evidently, they are comfortable with bed bugs in their establishment. Lack of empathy and concern as a leadership team. Their positions as leaders need to be reconsidered. Obviously, managing a bed bug invested hotel suits their standards. I will never stay here again.

Yuck Room was fairly clean but cell-like. Had to shoo people from our doorway and window at 1am where they talked loudly. Electrical pops in room so we pulled plugs on appliances for fear of fire. Terrible front office service. No thank you.

Great place to stay If you are staying in the Cleveland area, I recommend this boutique hotel by Best Western. We had a clean, comfortable king suite room. There is a nice on site restaurant with a bar. All staff that we encountered were friendly. And the hotel is beautifully decorated.

No After driving all the way from SD the desk clerk just kept rambling on about do you remember..... I just wanted the room. Finally get key. We plan to stay 3 night. Apparently people "live" in hotel and every single day people kept knocking on our door or bothering us. One of the nights we get a blanket that has drawings on it I immediately tell desk clerk and take pictures. Don't recommend at all.
