Bug in room, Poorly cleaned Well first of all the name is very misleading “Americas Best Value Inn”. This hotel is not the best value for the condition and lack of amenities. I called ahead to state we would be checking in after 10 pm. When we arrived, a gentleman provided us our keys through a walk-up window. A sign on the window stated that there was no availability. Luckily, we had a reservation. The second floor was only accessible by steep stair steps. An older person with ambulation difficulties probably would have great difficulty using the stairs. Upon entering the room, the furniture was sparse, looked old (how cheap furniture gets nicks etc.) The bathroom had a towel hanging on the rack that was definitely used with visible dirt smudges. The toilet had urine in it. There was what may have been a cockroach on the floor under the sink and despite it's best efforts, my husband was able to capture and squish it with tissue and he threw it into the sink so I could take a picture. There was dirt in the corners and edges of the floor about the room and bathroom. Disgusting. We left the room and went back down to the office. I showed him the picture of the dirty towel and described the room that came equipped with a "bug" and pre-used toilet. He was very apologetic and offered to clean the room. I said no way and a room like that shouldn’t have been provided. He said they don’t have cockroaches or any bugs and that the "hotel gets sprayed every month"…. I said they do have bugs and I could show him a picture. He then said he would provide us a different room. As unsettled as I was about the cleanliness and bugs with the first room, I wasn’t excited about this option but we told him we’d look at it. The room offered was cleaner than the first room however still there were spots on the wall and the dresser drawer did not close fully but the room was cleaner. Not as much “crud” in the corner of the floor and wall, the towels and toilet appeared clean. The mattresses were situated on a metal pedestal so that when you walk up to the bed, your feet slam into the metal frame so the banging sound was enormously loud. No toe space what so ever. The furniture maybe was newer and there was a desk provided, but only bright overhead ceiling lights, no desk lamp. My overnight stay was unrestful because I worried about the bug issue. Thankfully I did not see any bugs in this room. It is strange that all rooms had been “sold out” but he had this room once we complained. We did pay only about $110 for this room and we selected it because it was close to our destination & freeway -- and being a national brand, we never anticipated that we would be renting in a shanty hotel. We should have just traveled a little further, paid an extra $30 and stuck with the major brands we have had experience with for the peace of mind and a good nights rest.

In town for a concert My son stayed here for 2 nights while attending a concert in San Bernadino. He felt the bed was comfortable and the office staff was pleasant. The bathroom set up was unusual with a clear view into the shower from the bedroom area. Also, the refrigerator did not appear to be turned on when they checked in.

Good Place to stay During long journey from Arizona, all of a sudden I have decided to have stay at Americas Best Value Inn. It is really good service provided to me. Staff is calm. Place is really quite. No noise even it is nearer to free way I-10. It has safe parking. I must say that this place takes care of guests that at least no one would check out without having breakfast even they don't have breakfast room. That shows their positive attitude to serve their guests. For $72/night, I think this is more than sufficient.

You'll want to avoid this place! About the only good thing I have to say about this place is that it was close to a restaurant. That being said, you would want to make this place your last resort, just slightly above sleeping in your car. We should have been alerted to the quality of the place we had booked by tv remote that was handed to us at check in. The bed was like sleeping on a slab of cold cement, the hotel offered virtually no amenities, not even soap and/or shampoo. Everything was bolted down or built in so that it could not be moved. The "continental breakfast" offered was your choice of pre-packed muffins at the front desk. We won't be staying here again and do not recommend this place to anyone else.
