Couldn't They Just be Friendly/Welcoming? I've never felt more unwelcome at a hotel, if not disrespected, in my life. The lady behind the counter didn't welcome me or greet me in any way. No "Welcome to La Quinta!" No "We're glad to have you here, Windham Awards member!" No nothing. I handed her my DL and bank cards, and advised her that I had a reservation (made days prior). I'd prepaid the room online. She (Dolores?) quietly seemed to study the cards for several seconds before perfunctorily returning my bank card. Seconds later, she said, "I'll need to see your credit card." I told her that she'd just returned it to me, and she said, "Oh, I mean your I.D.!" As she said that, she was holding my drivers license, not 18 inches in front of her face. Maybe she was preoccupied with something else? She continued to seemingly study my I.D. and her computer screen for a couple of minutes, before returning my D.L. I got the impression that she was having trouble convincing herself that I was the guy who'd made the reservation. She finally handed me a key. informed me of breakfast hours, and that there was no wi-fi password, all in a mechanical, aloof tone. On the top floor, I found that I was given a room next to the elevator. I heard the bell ring every time someone got on or off, and the 10 P.M. revelers who piled off the elevator and hung out in the hallway outside my room for several minutes. I'd earlier informed another lady (Martha? Marta?) at the counter that the proximity of my room to the elevator was problematic, she simply responded, "Well, just ask for a room that's not close to the elevator next time." I paid my $7.00 for a coke and bottle of water, and returned to my room. By the way, the room was nice, although a bedside light didn't work. The other one did. The room was clean and the AC worked great. Just a little friendliness from the staff would have been much appreciated. The next morning, when I told the woman (Kelly?) at the counter what had transpired the previous afternoon, she said, "Why am I not surprised." When I told her that I'd never been treated like that by hotel staff before, her response was, "You don't stay in hotels much, do you?" I've indeed stayed at many hotels around the world for more than 60 years. The unwelcoming attitude of the staff at this hotel was unprecedented.

Overbooked - Not Clean Our room was overbooked and we were given a downgraded room for the same amount. The room was not clean and other peoples food and plates were on the ground and in the couch.

Regional Convention Jehovah's Witness It was a very convenient location. I was able to take my aged mother and two sisters. It was very relaxing before returning to Houston without power for a week due to Hurricane Beryl.

Black Mold Front desk staff was rude and made you feel like you were an inconvenience. The entire hotel smells musty and the rooms are infested with black mold in the air conditioners and the ceiling, I had to fully wash every piece of clothing when I got home to get the smell out. This was the worst hotel stay I've ever had.

BAD!! Go elsewhere, you'll regret your stay here. Stunk, sheets weren't clean, pool was closed the whole weekend, NOT Wyndham standards what so ever!! Front desk girl was very un professional and rude, she even cursed infront of my children calling me names when I complained of Marijuana smell coming thru my room vents. Manager on duty apologized for the front desk girls actions, but allowed the girl to continue her shift like nothing happened...not cool. Considering there was another girl at the front desk working. 2 other families left due to the the smell and rudeness!
