Great location, decent hotel This hotel is in a great location in downtown Sacramento close to shopping, restaurants and the Golden One Center. Parking is $10/night. The free breakfast is a bit of deception. In fact it’s a coupon good for $15 at the restaurant next door. We stayed for 2 night, got 2 coupons, but that only bought us one breakfast based on the prices. The breakfast was very good, but pricey. The hotel also had an outdoor pool and hot tub but we didn’t use them. Staff were friendly. I’d recommend this spot, but be aware of the breakfast situation.

Great Stay Lovely Hotel in a really good location for downtown and old town Sacramento. Check-in was pretty straightforward, with the only potential argument concerning car parking. It appears that from 1 Jan 2020, they've introduced a $10 per day charge for parking at the Hotel, whereas our booking clearly stated "free parking". when it was confirmed I'd actually booked before the parking charge was introduced (Nov 2019), the Receptionist was very happy to disregard the parking charge. They also had us located on the top floor but when I pointed out my wife is currently struggling with mobility due to a slipped disc, the Receptionist managed to find us a ground floor room. Our Room was very large, with all the usual mod cons, including private bathroom/shower, safe, fridge, TV, microwave, etc). It was very clean, and the ice machine wasnt too far away. Breakfast (continental) was a nice touch, though the room was maybe a bit small for the No of Guests. Saying that, we found a seat each morning. They also have a Gymnasium/Exercise Room and a Swimming Pool, which looked nice but weren't used by us. Final plus point has to be the location, which is just perfect for the Downtown area, as well as the Old Town area. Really great for heading around on foot and enjoying a few beers on the way.

Location, location, location! Literally across the street from Amtrak/train station, a few blocks from Old Sacramento and 0.07 miles aka hop, skip and a jump to Golden 1 Center for a concert or Kings game with a comfy bed, complimentary breakfast the room and bathroom were a bit outdated but hey I came to hang out have some FUN around town, it's all about location, location, location - RIGHT??! Keep in mind the rates fluctuate based on when a concert or Kings game is going on, so be prepared for rates to go up but if you are looking for somewhere to stay directly across from Amtrak/train station that is in close proximity to great bars, restaurants and entertainment - you have found it. Added bonus complimentary breakfast in the morning to get you started for the day or on your way back home. Staff was friendly, getting us checked in with ease, property was convenient and bed was super comfy. We did have to change rooms due to the shower wouldn't drain and the next one was not that much better but for a quick two night stay we made it work and enjoyed our time in Sacramento. Even though you are close to the freeway we couldn't hear the noise of the road/cars nor any of the guests through the walls or as anyone passed by outside - totally dug that. We felt safe and secure in the neighborhood walking around both during the evening and day. Overall budget friendly, close to everything, just needs a little TLC in the bathroom and again diggin' the location, location, location.

Friendly, convenient, cheap Hotel now charges $10/day for parking, and breakfast room is crowded; but for the price this is a great place to stay in Sacramento. Short walk to "Old Sacramento" and California State RR Museum; clean, quiet room; helpful and friendly staff.

The Vagabond gets it right. I booked this room at the last minute after a travel screwup. For a very reasonable rate, I got free airport transportation, a clean room, a comfy bed, 300 cable channels and a hot breakfast. If I wanted, I could have taken a dip in their outdoor pool. The Vagabond gets economy hotels right. It’s not the Four Seasons, but it doesn’t try to be, and it shouldn’t be judged to those standards. It’s, comfortable, and affordable, and that’s enough.
