An average chain hotel Staff at the Holiday Inn Express in Sorrento Valley are nice. The rooms meet their purpose with AC, microwave, TV, refrigerator, and comfortable beds. Cleanliness is good. I don't recommend this hotel for a quiet night sleep. We can hear the footsteps of the people above us. We can hear the other hotel room doors closing loudly in our room. One night, a family with kids were in the pool past 10:30pm making the loudest noise keeping my kids awake. I also don't recommend this hotel for the free breakfast. I had better free breakfast at other hotel chains. The one thing that bothered me about this hotel is that they charged $10 a night for parking when the surrounding area is car-orientated and this hotel is not walking distance to any major attractions. There is also plenty of parking. Overall, the hotel is just like other chain hotels which is why I give the average rating. I would not stay here again because there is another hotel I like more nearby. If you do stay here, I recommend booking on the front side of the building. The back side of the building has the pool.

Lost item/Great service Hi I just wanted to give a special thank you to the whole Holiday Inn Sorrento Valley team. I left my beloved pillow, they saved it and Elisa mailed it to me the same day I called to report it lost. As far as the rooms they were very clean, comfortable and freshly renovated. They are in the middle of remodeling their front desk area so I assuming will look just as nice. The free breakfast was clean and the kitchen area was also very clean. Very good for a family and very easy freeway access. We will definitely use this hotel while passing the San Diego area. Thank you!!!

Help during the nite time out of office hours We had to make a last minute change to the schedule in the middle of the nite. The nite time staff was extremely helpful and solved our problem promptly. We really appreciate when we can have help at odd hours as we had to make the call from Japan.

Great location near LaJolla and local freeways This is a great small hotel in North County near LaJolla and with easy access to freeways. I returned here with friends in late May and had a great stay - the property now has a new breakfast room and will soon have its biz center and fitness room updated as well. Clean, comfortable and quiet (except for the soccer teams that invaded on the weekend, they were VERY noisy in the hallways until after 10pm! Corporate travelers should not be affected but beware if you are here on a weekend!) Still a great place to stay due to lcoation and the value it offers to IHG member!

Great Customer Service! I have stayed at this hotel many times and always had a great experience. I recently had an issue with my reservation, which was my fault. I spoke with the manager Elisa and she was amazing and fixed my problem immediately. I am so grateful and I wish all hotels had great customer service like this. Thank you Elisa!
