A nice out-of-town hotel in lovely surroundings ! This is a very nice hotel on the outskirts of Vence, but be warned, it's a 15 minute up-hill walk into the old town which we found quite exhausting, especially in the heat - we ordered a taxi to take us to the town one evening, but it cost 20 euros for the 2 km ride which we thought was excessive - this hotel hosts a lot of weddings, family parties, business seminars etc so the place can get quite lively (noisy) at times as the restaurant is outdoors by the pool, which was right next to our small secluded (dark) terrasse - not really a place to stay for a quiet relaxing time. The staff were very nice and helpful, the buildings and grounds very attractive. I was a little disappointed with our cubicle, sorry, room, as it was quite compact (narrow) with the bed up stairs on a mezzanine level - clean and reasonably comfortable but not overly luxurious - we did sleep well with the help of the excellent air conditioning. We ate once in the restaurant which was not a particularly memorable occasion and the window-less bar is not a place where you would want to spend too much time drinking the over-priced refreshments.

Lovely hotel and service Great trip to our favourite hotel once again. Good food, lovely, relaxing atmosphere and great service. Had a wonderful facial from Angie which was out of this world. Would highly recommend, and will definetly do again. Vence is now on our list every time we visit France because of this hotel.

Perfect relaxation day I had a day pass "Wellness Bubble Package" and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We had a warm welcome from the reception desk and the 3 course lunch was delicious, made with fresh products. Enjoyed the sun loungers and pool access. Garden and views are absolutely breathtaking (we also had access to petanque and ping-pong with the family). My 60 minute massage was the best I ever had! Special thanks to Dany-Pierre for an amazing experience. I would highly recommend her for a massage.

Not accommodating I didn’t stay here in the end. After much research and debate we found this place and thought it would be perfect. 3 months prior to our stay we tried to make a booking at restaurant. No availability for any of the evenings of our booking. At €310 a night I expect to be able to use the on site facilities. Disappointing and had to go back to the drawing board to find somewhere else.

Gracious stay Enjoyed our stay at The Cantemerle whilst visiting the NIce area for the Rugby World Cup. Facilities are great and the duplex rooms are stunning. Food is OK, not great. Staff are particularly friendly (especially at the front desk). It is a bit of an uphill trek to reach the old town of Vence, but this provided us with most of the exercise we took during our stay! Would certainly stay here again.
