Super helpful! Super friendly and helpful staff! Guest Services Supervisor, Sheena LaFontant went the extra mile and helped me print out documents I desperately needed to conduct a training. Even when I offered to pay for the extra service, she said no problem, I'm here to help! So very kind!

Good potential, but . . . Facility seems quite nice, staff was friendly and helpful, nice breakfast, comfortable bed, convenient location near highway intersection. Some glitches with the room, though. As we arrived the heating system did not operate at all; turned out the batteries were dead. OK, these things can happen. But the room still was in need of some repairs. Bathroom sink faucet fixtures were loose, sliding on the counter so water could leak onto the shelf with towels below, bathroom wallpaper was peeling, the curtain to the balcony had holes, there seemed to be caulking repairs unfinished around the door, with gaps where cold air was clearly coming in, coffee maker didn't work properly, reading lights did not work. I was on the fence as to whether to give a 3 or 4 rating, but the issues we noted would seem to have been fixable or preventable, so we went on the low side. We would try this place again, though.

Home away from home This is our go-to hotel when we travel to Basking Ridge to visit family. We had just spent two terrible nights at another Tapestry Collection hotel on the first leg of our five night trip, and arriving at the Somerset Hills Hotel was like coming home. (click on my account if you want to read my review of that nightmare of a place.) The rooms are generously sized, clean, and comfortable. All the amenities were in place and functional. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. We have been here 5 of 6 times, and we will be back many more times.

Reauest a room away from the kitchen exhaust I would have requested to move rooms had it not been for my chronic illness and very limited energy. I had already unpacked when I discovered this problem and don't have energy to repack and unpack again. The cooking grease exhaust comes straight into my room on the 4th floor, via the wall AC/ heating unit. The greasy air wakes me up every morning around 4am and it aggravates my lungs. This goes on for most of the day and night, and wearing an N95 mask while alone in my room (which feels crazy and uncomfortable) doesn't help. Short of bringing one's own space heater, or fan during warmer months, I think the only thing to do is stay as far from the kitchen as possible. The driveway path from the disabled parking to the front doors is rather uneven and unpleasant for a wheelchair user. The TV in the room didn’t turn on from the time I checked in but I didn’t care enough to complain and have someone come tinker with it. The lights in the entryway and bathroom have motion detectors and turn off on their own, leaving me in the pitch dark a couple times, once while on the toilet. The water was turned off for 4 hours today and we only received less than an hour’s notice via a paper flyer under the door. Some of the front desk staff have been friendly, which I appreciated, and others indifferent/cold which was a little uncomfortable.

Fantastic. First class accommodations! This was a great booking. I got it as a mystery room on Hotwire and while it was a little bit out from the NYC area I was willing to travel due to the rating being so good. It did not disappoint. The night-shift front desk attendant was especially kind and answered my numerous questions with a smile, and my room was well-decorated and clean. I was happy to see a bathtub and not just a shower because I wanted to take a bath after my plane ride. The one thing I would say for feedback, which is very minimum is that the desk surfaces are made of white marble and therefore you cannot use an optical mouse on the desk work surface - it would be great if they provided some kind of mousepad. Other than that, I really enjoyed this stay and would love to go back to this fine establishment.
