GROUPON GUIDE TO HOUSTON

10 Things to Do at Harrah's Las Vegas

Harrah's exterior

Considering Harrah's Las Vegas takes up almost 100,000 square feet of prime Las Vegas Strip real estate, it's no surprise there's so much to do there. There is of course plenty of gaming—more than 1,200 slots' worth, for one thing—but that's just the beginning. Whether you're partying at an outdoor nightclub, savoring fresh oysters, or watching an America's Got Talent star's unique comedy show, you're pretty much guaranteed to never be bored. Here are 10 things to do to make your visit as memorable as possible.

1. EAT OYSTERS 6 WAYS AT OYSTER BAR

Entrees like the pan-seared Scottish salmon and the Cajun scallops are tempting enough, but you can't stop by Oyster Bar without indulging in some freshly delivered oysters. Try them fried, grilled, on the half shell, or prepared in one of the signature house styles.

2. CATCH A DUELING PIANO PERFORMANCE… BY IDENTICAL TWINS

Sisters Kim and Tamara Pinegar compete for the crowd's approval during raucous nightly piano performances at The Piano Bar. Come at off-peak hours to catch shows by self-explanatory acts like Big Elvis or the Saxman Duo.

Sports book lounge

3. CHILL AT A SPORTS BAR, ONLY BETTER

With its comfy lounge chairs and absurd TV setup—including nine 90-inch TVs and eleven 80-inch TVs—the Race & Sports Book is a fantastic place to catch a game. Particularly if you'd like to, say, make things more interesting by placing a wager at the counter.

4. TAKE THE PARTY TO THE STREETS AT CARNAVAL COURT

Bands and DJs keep the party going under the stars at this venue, essentially an outdoor nightclub with no cover charge located just outside Harrah's southwest entrance. Even waiting for drinks here is exciting thanks to the flair bartenders.

5. GET READY FOR A NIGHT OUT AT HARRAH'S SPA

There are plenty of relaxing spa treatments here, from Vitamin C facials to the indulgent In the Cocoon massage. But the most practical services are the hair and makeup treatments. Book one before a night out and you'll be ready to turn heads out on the casino floor.

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

6. ENJOY STEAK WITH A VIEW

The floor-to-ceiling windows at Ruth's Chris Steak House—the most upscale of the six Harrah's Las Vegas restaurants—provide excellent views of the Strip, setting the scene for glamorous meals of porterhouse steaks, lamb chops, and Chilean sea bass. Don't forget to order a wine pairing, either: the restaurant earned a 2018 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.

7. PLAY JAMES BOND'S FAVORITE GAME (NOT BLACKJACK)

Among Harrah's more than 80 casino games you'll find the classic (and Bond favorite) baccarat, an easy-to-learn card game where you simply bet on the player or the bank. If that's not your speed, there are also tables for blackjack, craps, roulette, poker, and pai gow.

8. RESERVE A CABANA AT THE POOL

Sipping mimosas and munching on cafe snacks at the Harrah's Las Vegas pool is an appealing way to spend your daylight hours, but it's even better if you reserve a cabana or daybed to serve as home base. Go for a spot on the first deck for proximity to the main pool, or check out the third deck if you'd rather be near the DJ.

Tape Face

9. SEE AN ECCENTRIC 'AMERICA'S GOT TALENT' STAR

Offbeat comedian Tape Face didn't have to utter a word to earn his own custom theater space (now known as the House of Tape) at Harrah's. He just had to mount the same one-of-a-kind performance of music, physical comedy, and audience interaction that made him a fan favorite on America's Got Talent in 2016.

10. ZOOM THROUGH THE SKY ABOVE THE LINQ PROMENADE

Strolling the shops and bars of the LINQ Promenade is all well and good, but you can get another perspective on the happening nightlife strip thanks to the brand-new Fly LINQ, a series of 10 side-by-side ziplines that send you soaring 12 stories above street level.
