GROUPON GUIDE TO CLEVELAND

12 Great Short Haircuts for Women Right Now

BY: Colleen Loggins |Jun 2, 2017

Are you flirting with the idea of chopping off all of your hair, but afraid to take the plunge? That's understandable. Going short is a big commitment and can be daunting. To help you decide once and for all, we asked several stylists who work with Groupon to walk us through their favorite short haircuts for women right now.

They'll explain why they like each look and what types of women can pull each one off—including some of the best short haircuts for curly-haired ladies. What's more, all of the cuts are shown on real customers, rather than celebrities, i.e., those otherworldly creatures with glam squads at their beck and call. We hope seeing real examples of short haircuts for women will give you the confidence to finally book an appointment at the salon.

Unstructured Short Bob

Designed by Steven at Jon Charles Salon in Minneapolis

Why do you like it? Its versatility. It has extra texturizing to give a more effortless look. It can be styled easily by using a curling iron to give a more unfinished, messy look or straight for a more sleek look.

Best for? Most hair types. Someone with very thick/coarse hair might have to spend more time styling, but it can still look very chic and stylish.

Textured Rock Star Pixie

Designed by Steven at Jon Charles Salon

Why do you like it? I love this cut for those who are more edgy and who can be confident wearing a shorter cut. It always makes one's face stand out and lets them play with more accessories.

Best for? Those who have a fine to medium texture, curly or straight. Someone with a more coarse texture can achieve this, but the grow-out process can be difficult.

Mod Bob with Long Bangs

Designed by Steven at Jon Charles Salon

Why do you like it? It's all about the fringe! It can be worn in a more tousled way or styled straight and sleek. I always recommend a style like this for someone who wants a classic look. It can be modernized by adding texture, but can look more vintage if cut bluntly.

Best for? This style really would work for every hair type. It can make finer textures look more full and coarse hair look more sleek.
