Horses helped teach Elaine Twiggs about the importance of corrective Bodywork. During the years she spent managing and training horses in North Carolina, Elaine noticed that they instinctually responded to her unbalanced posture, compensating with their own bodies and gaits. This spurred her toward learning more about how the human body's alignment and tension could adversely impact its overall well being. After studying the theories behind Structural Integration, she chose to dedicate her life to this Bodywork treatment, first in North Carolina with a 15-year practice before she founded Sedona Pointe Integrative Bodywork in Albuquerque two years ago.

Elaine's sessions emphasize the therapeutic benefits of realigning and reeducating using her deep knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Typical treatment sessions include time for her to observe and evaluate clients' gait and posture. She then uses these observations when working with the tension laden fascia around muscles, which can lessen pain and improve function. In addition to helping clients stand tall and finally ride the big roller coasters, these treatments encourage them to become more aware of their bodies' effects on their overall well being.
