Candlelite Inn, Arlington

The Candlelite Inn holds a truly unique honor in Arlington: It was the first restaurant in town to offer pizza when it opened in 1957. In 1964, it expanded its size and its menu, offering Tex-Mex, pasta, and burgers alongside slices of the cheesy good stuff. Finally in 2014, the interior was renovated, bringing that classic '50s diner look into the 21st century.

The joint still flaunts the red-and-white checked tablecloths, but they've added colorful lights to create a welcoming family-friendly atmosphere. With 7 types of spaghetti, 13 varieties of pizza, and 8 different burritos, there are seemingly limitless answers to the question, "What's for dinner?"
