Historic Bethlehem, Bethlehem

Founded on Christmas Eve in 1741 by a small group of Moravian settlers and christened “Christmas City, USA” in 1937, Bethlehem brims with history. To shine a light on this past, the Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites works to preserve artifacts, gardens, ruins, and historic sites, and it shares these relics with the community through year-round guided tours and museum exhibits.

To this end, the partnership is composed of many non-profit organizations and manifests itself in various endeavors, such as:

• The Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, which features exhibits like HairWork, a collection of mementos made by Victorians out of loved ones' hair
• The 10.9-mile Heritage Trail, which snakes through landmarks, Victorian-era homes, and old Bethlehem Steel buildings
• The Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, a bastion of exhibits about the town’s settlers, including their missionary work, education system, and medical techniques
