Vinnie's Butcher Shop, Brooklyn

Since 1954, customers have been dropping into Vinnie's Butcher Shop for fresh cuts of meat and seafood. At this point, the shop is older than many of its patrons, but the interior has a timeless feel. A hand-lettered chalkboard on one wall highlights offerings from baby-back ribs to tongue to whole lobsters, and a smorgasbord of cured meats and cheeses fills the glass-fronted cases. Visitors can pick up a full meal's worth of groceries on the premises, too, selecting condiments, pasta, and seasonings from the steel racks that line one wall.
