Safety is at the center of every target at Joe Foss Public Shooting Range—under the umbrella of the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department—whether during open shooting time or competitive matches. Range safety officers—who undergo continuous training—always monitor the activity. Additionally, every new visitor must go over the range's safety rules before participating.
