Limestone Springs, Oneonta

Nature is so prevalent at Limestone Springs, it actually receives credit as the course's co-creator on the Limestone Springs website. Creeks, streams, ridges, and hillside outcroppings characterize the 18-hole championship layout, which sprawls across 225 acres in the Appalachian Mountains just 30 minutes north of Birmingham.

Working in concert with the natural landscape, former U.S. Open winner Jerry Pate actually designed Limestone Springs. He took advantage of the land's topography and dramatic elevation changes to surround the course with picturesque vistas, all while adding sugar-white bunkers and man-made lakes. Even though it hasn't been chosen as Miss America yet, the course has received accolades for its beauty and playability, including awards and recognition from the likes of Golf Digest and GolfWeek.
