About Diggers Diner
###Five Things to Know About Digger’s Diner
Digger’s Diner has a single goal: making sure guests leave feeling better than when they walked in. They achieve this lofty aim thanks to their impossibly friendly service, award-winning comfort food, and portion sizes that would make Paul Bunyan unbuckle his belt afterwards. Here’s some more things to know before you dig in at a Digger’s Diner:
* **This isn’t your typical, paint-by-numbers diner fare.** The made-to-order, never frozen ⅓ lb burgers scored the “Best Burger” award in the Concord Transcript and the Gold Medal award from Brentwood Press, while the fries and the breakfasts took home the Silver.
* **You’re never too far from a full belly.** Digger’s has expanded to three locations in Concord, Hayward, and Brentwood, each brimming with the Digger’s charm that makes it feel less like a chain and more like a community.
* **Herbivores have a place at the table, too.** Although they specialize in classic diner fare and meat-based comfort foods, the cooks serve plenty of vegetarian-friendly fare, including garden burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, caramel pecan pancakes, and giant cinnamon rolls
* **The diner was founded by a gravedigger.** That’s right, the first Digger’s Diner was founded in 1994 by the team of Aunt Kathy and Digger Dave, a jolly former gravedigger who now doubles as the diner’s PR guy. If you meet him, expect some corny jokes.
* **For some dishes, it’s best to leave any guilt at the door.** This is especially true if you order “The Crypt,” a zip-code filling burger composed of two patties, three slices of grilled Texas toast, two eggs, bacon, cheese, and all the fixings you can handle.
