About Natural Wellness for Women LLC
Welcome to Natural Wellness for Women LLC! I am a Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor and Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider (with multiple related certifications). I maintain my certification as a Medical Assistant because - well, I love doing that stuff! Give me a needle and a vein, and I WILL get blood! lol I let my certifications as an LPCC and LCDC-III expire because - well, with the CIMHP I can do the cool adjunct stuff that the State of Ohio didn't allow that usually shortens people's time in treatment, or helps them past stuck points so they can move on to other issues, or diminishes their symptoms - which should make both their psychiatrists and counselors happy. At least when I was a counselor, I loved it when I worked myself out of a job with some of my clients who actually improved right out of treatment. I have a passion for women's wellness because women are often overlooked, mistreated, ignored, and in general disrespected by many allopathic medical practitioners and insurance companies. The United States is the least safe of the modern nations in which to have a baby, and I have seen pregnant women ignored to tragic or near-tragic consequences in their pregnancies. I have a few medical horror stories from my own life that responded well to natural care, and I was so impressed I wanted to provide natural wellness services forward to other women. Natural interventions seldom work immediately, and often work more slowly and on a deeper level than conventional allopathic treatments. I've had clients that expected them to work after one application, which greatly startled me, and I could only say, "If the medical doctor is giving you a 2- or 6-week or 6-month time frame before you get relief, why would you expect natural interventions to be immediate? It's not magic." In reality, magic also seldom works immediately. Standard medical care expected antibiotics to be the "magic bullet" in the fight against infectious disease. They are powerful, but the "bugs" are constantly outsmarting them. In natural wellness, we target prevention and balance - in all dimensions of lifestyle. And we shy away from magic bullets. Natural interventions are not based on medical diagnoses. It helps me if I know the medical diagnoses, but I seldom make recommendations based on them. I will work with you to find the right combination of the right interventions and solutions to guide you into improved, and hopefully optimal, wellness over time. Not everything responds to natural care, just as not everything responds to standard medical care. There are many things that respond to both. There is most definitely a time and place for both, and when they can work together in difficult situations, that can be really powerful! I love what I do. I love hands-on interventions and feel like I can provide so much support of healing through natural means - herbs, essential oils, supplements, enzymes, subtle remedies, body work, energy work, etc. I also love teaching - both directly and indirectly. A lot of natural wellness revolves around education. My Bachelor of Science is in Health Education, and my Master of Arts is in Counselor Education. I'm working on a Udemy course (unfortunately, it's going more slowly than I would like; it takes a lot of time to work a PT job and build a business), and once it's done, I have two more in mind. I'm sure more will occur to me as I get into a flow with this. With significant history of having worked in standard medical health care, and having been involved in a number of emergency response situations (they weren't all successful), I opted to become certified as a BLS/CPR/AED and First Aid instructor. I chose to do this because we never know when someone will need it, and it's important to be prepared for the contingency so we can potentially give people the gift of a continued life. In reality, it fits in well with natural wellness. Nothing is more natural than breathing and having a heartbeat.
