My all time favorite vet, Dr. Sandy Stewart, works there a couple of days a week. We've been seeing Dr. Stewart since Gracie was born but at another vet clinic where she also work part time. I was THRILLED to find out that she's also at Pleasant Hill Animal Hospital, too. That will absolutely guarantee that we'll be back!

I emailed and called to make certain of any additional charges for the dental cleaning and I also inquired about annual vaccines. I agreed to an additional $135 for vaccines w/heartworm test plus the cost of any antibiotics. In spite of my due diligence, the bill was padded with extras for a nail trim ($20), "Pre-anesthetic Blood Profile" ($54) and an Exam charge ($45) for a $292.50 extra, after the Groupon. Further the credit for the dental procedure was only $150, not $175 per the Groupon. Lastly, there was a terrible lack of attention to detail as when brought out to go home, the IV catheter was still in my dog's arm. The vet had to come out to remove the IV. My dog was drooling profusely and needed to go out. I simply could not and should not have had to argue the bill as my pet needed my attention. When I inquired about the charges, the response was unacceptable. Regarding the nail trim, "we perform that with every surgery, but do not charge for it." Regarding the blood work, "you agreed to it as part of the vaccines", although it is itemized on the bill as "pre-anesthetic" blood profile and clearly a padded charge to the dental cleaning. Regarding the exam, "it is required with the rabies shot". They only agreed to credit me $20 for the nail trim, for which they "never charge". I could not be more dissatisfied.
