At Synapse, our rehab typically involves four types of therapy. This includes therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, manual therapy and conditioning. Rehab sessions follow a strict protocol that will advance as the patient develops increased movement, strength and proprioception. Sessions that focus on the neck and low back will include ROM, isometric exercises, concentric and essentric movements with both short and long ROM. The goal is to increase the pain-free ROM while boosting strength and flexibility. The patient will then start on neuromuscular re-education protocols. This part of the program will focus on core muscle strength, balance and proprioception. This will create lumbar and pelvic stability, thereby minimizing back and neck dysfunction.
