Worst groupon purchase ever. They have good reviews elsewhere so I was utterly shocked with my experience. They blame groupon for their complete lack of communication. Please know there will be not photos and video, and they also blame groupon for the false advertising. I had to follow up with multiple phone calls and emails and still they provided no booking confirmation until an hour before the time of appointment even though I "booked" over a week in advance. No directions were provided until that same hour even though everyone knows it takes significant time to travel anywhere in CA so why would you expect someone to be able to show up without providing an address in advance? The address on their website is not their address. It's a false address. There is no place to park, particularly on Monday mornings but they do not tell you that when you book and are unhelpful when you get there and have no place to park. They assume everyone is local? I made it clear I was traveling in from out out state. Therefore, I would say their attention to detail/customer service skills are subpar. You are sent to an unmarked stalker van with no windows on a side street at the end of a culdesac whereas all the other surf schools are on the beach clearly marked with their names in signs like a proper business. I went ahead and made contact with the instructor who wasn't aware the appointment was for two. That was the last red flag. The entire process felt like a scam. The street sweeper showed up and I had to move my car and I did not wind up coming back because of how off-putting everything had been to that point. The entire process from beginning to end felt like a scam. From the circle jerk with scheduling to the false address on their website... it all feels very illegitimate. I called "the office" when I first arrived because I had no address and I was told that they would have to get my details again to book my appointment again. At that point we discussed parking and they knew I had no place to park in the area. After I had to move my car, I called back to inform them I was not going to get the lesson, respectably, so their instructor would not be their waiting for me to show up. I was honest that I was frazzled and that the entire situation was very of-putting. They refused to refund my money. They require you to redeem your groupon before they even book the lesson which is not how groupon works anywhere else so they had already collected my money. Just another thing that makes it feel like a scam. If they moved to groupon to expand their customer base, they are going to have to step up their communication game. From beginning to end their communication and customer service were awful. The lesson itself may have been great but I will never know and I'm out a very overpriced amount of money for a falsely advertised groupon that was more than it would have cost me just to pay for a lesson for two.
