As work days get longer and free time gets shorter, it can be hard to turn off the outside world and relax or heal. That's why husband and wife team Ryan and Olga Schoonmaker founded Zephyr Float with the goal of providing a relaxing and beneficial service to the Hudson Valley area. Float sessions provide an opportunity to free the mind from external stimuli and the body from gravity, designed to deliver a temporary respite from stress and pain. Here's what you can expect at your float session:

• Inside the vessel: 10 inches of water, heated to 93.4 degrees Fahrenheit, the same temperature as the skin, mingles with more than 800 pounds of epsom salts, enabling the water to hold up the human body and grant a sense of weightlessness.
• Shutting out the world: After the door is closed, the tank is entirely free of light and sound, creating a sanctuary for the both the body and the mind.
• Healing and relaxing: Float sessions may reduce stress and enhance creativity while inducing a "twilight state," a stage between wakefulness and sleep, which may help reduce muscle pain and injury recovery time.
