What's Included in these 1.5-hour Introduction Courses:

  • You (or you and a guest) will learn how to safely pick up and hold a handgun or a tactical pump shotgun.
  • You will learn how to check to see if the gun is loaded.
  • You will learn how to load and unload various types of these weapons.
  • You will receive an introduction to marksmanship with these weapons.
  • You will train in the privacy of our Silverlake, Los Angeles posh studio.

These are fun, apolitical introductory courses offered by Left of Center Gun School only on Groupon. They are intended to introduce you to the world of guns and gun culture in a safe and private space. You may redeem on a weekday or weekend day in the morning, afternoon or early evening, but you must contact Left of Center Gun School and arrange an appointment.

Left of Center Gun School, with its unique training techniques and personalized approach to every client, has created a gun safety training curriculem to fill that niche.
  • We offer fun, apolitical, and above all safe firearms training for anybody who wants to learn how to expertly handle and shoot a pistol or shotgun.   • David Selmo is a gifted teacher who makes every classroom session an entertaining, energetic, and motivating experience. His diverse background uniquely equips him to bring Left of Center Gun School’s course material alive with real world know-how that’s both educational and enlightening.
  • As a former paratrooper and US Army Infantry Officer of the Operation Desert Storm generation, Dave draws on years of military and more recently, police experience. He’s formally trained at an expert level on a wide variety of weapons, and was a Michigan State Champion on the M-14 rifle.
  • An experienced lecturer with a Master’s degree in Maritime Archaeology, Dave has published groundbreaking research and addressed both public and academic audiences about his work related to ancient shipwrecks.
  • Dave’s singular approach as a firearms instructor is focused on helping clients master safe, practical, hands-on skills in a fun and enjoyable way.
