About Mahina Kai Spa

Army veteran Carissa Walker wants to help military members and the public "float their cares away." So she opened Mahina Kai Spa, a flotation center where clients can deeply unwind in a zero-gravity atmosphere. The pods are filled with 1,000 pounds of dissolved Epsom salt, which allows clients to effortlessly float above 10" of water as their stress and worries slowly drift away. While floating, clients enjoy LED lighting and music of their choosing.

Carissa was great! Getting to the location was a little difficult, as the maps had me going in a bunch of wonky places. Also, there was salt eveywhere, like plastered on the sides of the wall and on the floor behind the pod. Other than that, it was awesome that we had a shower to use before and after, and she was really great about explaining the process and letting me know how to best use the pod! I would go back.
