Q&A with the Vice President

What is one fun, unusual fact about your business?
In partnership with the USDA Forest Service, SRTR presents costume-themed "More Kids in the Woods" events during the summer. Events include Mammoth Hawaiian Hula, Spooktacular Halloween, Salt River Pirates and Mardi Gras Magic. These are unique, memorable outdoor adventures in the great outdoors of Tonto National Forest.

I'm a first-timer. How do you get me ready for the experience?
Children must be at least 8 years or older and four feet tall for tubing and shuttle bus ride. 1 VALID DRIVERS LICENSE PER 5 TUBES RENTED is required for a tube rental deposit. Life vests are recommended for children, non-swimmers and inexperienced swimmers. Glass containers are not allowed in the Lower Salt River Recreational Area. Please utilize plastic or can containers. Drink plenty of water, at least 2 bottles per hour while floating to prevent dehydration. Tennis shoes or other protective footwear are needed to protect against cuts, scrapes, and bruises while walking to/from the Salt River’s entry and exit points. Shoes will help protect your feet from the River’s rocky bottom. SUNBLOCK lotion (at least 30-50 spf) should be applied BEFORE and DURING your floating trip. Wear a CAP, HAT or VISOR while tubing. It will help shield your face and head from the rays of the sun. Tying the TUBES together is NOT recommended. Styrofoam coolers are NOT recommended for tubing on the Salt River. Floating Picnic items include fresh fruit, bottled water, sports drinks, fruit juices, etc. Clothing - swim suit, shorts, t-shirt. Alcohol is not recommended on the Lower Salt River. Salt River Tubing offers a variety of tubes including rental tubes for ice chests. You may choose 2, 3 and 5-hour long trips that include float time and shuttle bus ride. Tube rentals and shuttle bus service is available daily 9:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m, weather and water flow permitting. The last shuttle bus pickup is 6:30 p.m. The tubing rental facility provides clean restrooms and a snack bar that sells cold drinks, snacks, sunscreen and life vests. Cash only is accepted at Salt River Tubing. 

What is the experience customers can expect, and how do you make it special?
