This Upper West Side French bistro has been serving neighborhood regulars since 1984. Continental classics like escargots, French onion soup and sole Meuniere predominate the delicate menu, though La Mirabelle’s rustic heart shines through in preparations like sweetbreads and veal kidneys with mustard sauce. The homey atmosphere pervades the place, thanks to owners Annick and Emmanuel LeDouaron, who keep the family vibe alive and well by including their daughter and son-in-law in day to day operations. An intimate but decidedly casual dining room also as a stage for some of the staff, who belt out French tunes as they work the room, serving dishes familiar to any French expat.
