Woodminster Amphitheater, Oakland

The Woodminister Amphitheatre, located in Oakland’s Joaquin Miller Park, is a great place to catch a production of classic plays like Mary Poppins or The Producers. Each summer this 2,000-seat venue puts on three performances, featuring both amateur and professional actors. The scenery is enough of an attraction that there doesn’t even need to be a performance to make the Woodminister Amphitheatre worth visiting. Bring a packed lunch and a loved one and enjoy a cozy picnic in one of the Bay Area’s most beautiful parks. It’s great for stargazing too, just be sure to dress warmly and bring a blanket, as the nights can get a little chilly.
