Q&A with Keith Guetschow, Owner
Do you agree with the phrase "beauty is on the inside?" Why or why not?
Oh, yes! A one-hour float session gives you the opportunity to turn off all the outside chatter and even slow the mind's chatter to reveal the "beauty that naturally exists on the inside." Floating regularly allows you to peel back the layers of everyday stress to reveal the beautiful inner self that is always there. Touch stillness and begin to incorporate it into your daily life.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a client?
We had a woman come into i-Float Sensation and float for the first time. After her one-hour float, she slumped in a chair in our lounge and said, "I feel like a wet noodle. I am so relaxed, I don't think I can drive home right now. I am undergoing chemo therapy right now, and you wouldn't believe the stress and pain I'm in. This took it all away." An hour later, she left the center relaxed and still in a state of deep calm.
How did you get started in the beauty industry? Did you have an "ah-ha" moment in life?
I took my first float in 1990 with my wife when she was eight months pregnant with our first child. We floated many times until our daughter was born. I never forgot the peace and tranquility it brought me and the pregnancy-related pain relief it brought my wife. At the end of 2013, I discovered these new high-tech pods being manufactured here in the United States, and decided it was time to open my own float center.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Through our close association with Weber State University Athletics and The Ogden Mustang Hockey team many athletes have experienced first hand the benefits of floating before and/or after a sporting event. Floating helps with creative visualizations prior to an event, as well as lowering stress and then after with its recuperative benefits for tired, sore muscles, pain and even concussion.
