Stanley's Hardware, Philadelphia

Since 1948, Roxborough residents have been heading to Stanley’s Hardware for their household needs, or the perfect DIY solution to a small, nagging apartment problem. The impressively stocked store moved to Ridge Avenue in 1961, and has been supplying the neighborhood with nails, screws, fixtures, fittings, tape and everything in between for more than a generation since. After a much-needed expansion, Stanley’s now runs out of a bright, welcoming, even more thoroughly stocked building on the same lot, where the dedicated team working inside sells an array of indoor and outdoor plants, consult on paint options and rent a range of equipment for bigger jobs. It’s nice to know that there’s still a corner hardware store to pick through for the perfect solution; even if you need a jackhammer, some patio furniture or some party supplies.
