After starting as a subcontractor, owner Jason Barnett worked his way up the ladder to open and operate Sunbeam Window Cleaning in 2006. He gleaned his favorite practices from his previous jobs, adding a few ideas of his own to design the low-impact practices his company follows today. Whether cleaning windows or gutters, pressure-washing siding, or repairing screens, his crews always cover their shoes with paper booties and employ waterproof drop cloths to prevent indoor woes. Outdoors, they equip their ladders with mitts to protect glass and siding. And as they wash, each workman wields an industrial-quality squeegee engineered to reduce streaks and increase visits from farsighted swallows.
