A. Kolychkine Judo Foundation, Miami

Sensei André Kolychkine made a name for himself in history as the "Father of Cuban Judo"—after all, he played a big role in spreading the martial art throughout this Caribbean island in the 1950s. Today, the A. Kolychkine Judo Foundation continues his legacy. Its crew of instructors (reaching all the way up to 9th dan) teach kids and adults alike the physical aspects of judo as well as its tenets, from respect and disciple to loyalty and honor. And for those interested in other martial arts, it also offers classes in karate and aikido.
