Az Professional Headshots is a Tempe based photo studio that provides crisp, clean and authentic headshots for all. Our bread and butter is the New York style headshot with a horizontal orientation, but we love catering to our customer's specific needs. Here is a little bit about what a headshot session is like with us: I've crafted a method that allows for professionals from all walks of life to successfully attain a "perfect headshot." When you arrive we have a little chat, set your clothing on the clothing rack, my office assistant or myself will offer you a drink and we set the stage for what is about to happen. Once we have makeup, hair and everything set, we head into the studio to get the lights set up and start shooting. For the next 20-30 minutes (on average) you basically get me saying a lot of fun and interesting things to inspire reactions and emotions that bring out some of your most beautiful and authentic expressions. The images pop up on a computer as we shoot so that every so often I can bring you over to review what we are doing, get your feedback, rate images and make some changes. I also use this as a teaching moment so you can learn things about yourself you never knew before. HOW FUN! Depending on which package you choose we may make our way through various outfits and backdrops to get as much variety as we can. Sometimes people come in wanting a white background headshot, but the black background just looks SO GOOD, they have to have it! I always encourage purchasing a package with multiple backdrop and outfit choices if at all possible. At the end of our session, I give you two options depending on what time constraints you may have. 1)We can either go through the images together and narrow it down to the final edits or 2) I can create you a gallery where you go through the images at home and let me know which ones you want to be retouched. Either way works fine for me! Once the images are selected, I start to work on your files. Many photographers send their photos out to professional retouchers, but we do everything in house to keep our reasonable rates and ensure quality and faster turnarounds. If you decide you want more images than your package includes, it's just a flat rate of $40 per image. Sidenote: The reason I don't include more than 3 images per session is that generally, headshots are something you should get renewed every year or two as you get older or as your physical features and style changes. I don't want you to over commit to a package of 5 images and decide you only like 3 of them and end up only using 1! The only time this would really make sense is if you were a model that needs a full tear sheet created. In that case, we would likely be shooting ALL day with multiple makeup, hair and wardrobe styles. If this is you, please call for a phone consultation!
