Jacob's Corn Maze, Traverse City

Recognized by the state historical commission as a Centennial Farm, Jacob's Farm dates all the way back to 1892—but its corn maze is like something out of the future. Computer software helps the farmers etch the maze into their 10-acre cornfield, creating an exacting labyrinth filled with circuitous twists and turns that form an intricate picture when viewed from above. Those who dare enter must use their wits to find their way through the 5 miles of trails—a challenge that becomes all the more nerve-racking when the sun goes down and visitors must rely only on a flashlight, map, and leashed pet bat. Once free from the maze, they can celebrate on the farm by picking pumpkins and sipping apple cider.
