Moved by their love for the Cape Fear River, Wilmington Water Tours' owners decided to found Wilmington Water Tours in order to share with others the history and the beauty of the area. The owners' passion soon garnered attention, and today, they own the Wilmington, a completely covered, motorized catamaran that can accommodate seating up to 49 people. Groups board the vessel explore the waters of the Cape Fear river. They cruise the historic harbor, watching the silhouettes of buildings transform into molten-colored spires in the sunset. They can also explore the history, wildlife, and mysterious channels of the Cape Fear River. Passengers can join the staff on sunset cruises as they feature local musicians to wash away the worries.

An addition to the Wilmington, the Bizzy Bee Water Taxi now transports passengers from two stops on the Wilmington side of the river to the USS North Carolina Battleship.
