New Street Glass Studio, Worcester

As a part of the Worcester Center of Crafts—which has been promoting the value of craft since 1856—New Street Glass Studio is equipped with everything both seasoned glassblowers and newbies need to bring their crystalline dreams to life. The 8,000-square-foot studio is armed with all sorts of state-of-the-art gear, including a 450-pound Correll Glass Invested Pot Furnace and six heavy-duty kilns, in three separate shops. Veteran artists can rent out space to pursue their own projects, while artists-in-residence get the 24-hour support and gallery shows they need to sustain their craft. And for those looking to try their hand at the centuries-old trade, those same artists lead classes for youth and adults.
