Hobby Lobby Returns & Exchanges
You have 90 days from your purchase date to return your item, provided that it’s in sellable condition (unused and unopened). You’ll need your receipt or shipping invoice for a full refund; without a receipt, you may make an exchange or get store credit, though your refundable amount will be based on the lowest selling price in the last 60 days. Due to frequent Hobby Lobby sales, this can be quite a bit less than your purchase price. Best to keep that receipt.
The following items MAY ONLY be returned with a receipt and in new, unopened condition:
- Silhouette products
- Cricut products
- Sewing machines
- Embroidery machines
Where you make your return will depend on how you originally purchased your item (online or in-store):
Online Purchases
Online purchases can be returned or exchanged both online and in-store.
Online returns: You’ll be responsible for the UPS or USPS return shipping charges. One exception is if your items were damaged when you received them. If that’s the case, be sure to call 1-800-888-0321 or email Hobby Lobby prior to returning, and Hobby Lobby will reimburse the shipping cost. Fill out this form and send your order to:

In-store returns: Bring your item to any Hobby Lobby retail location to make a return. You’ll need your receipt in order to get a full refund, which may take up to two weeks to be issued. Your refund will come in the form you paid with (cash or credit). Items being returned without a receipt will be eligible for exchanges or store credit. Merchandise credit will be based on the lowest selling price in the last 60 days.
Exchanges: If you want to exchange an item you ordered online, ship your item back for a refund and order your new item on hobbylobby.com. You can also head to the store for a straight exchange.
In-Store Purchases
In-store purchases may only be returned at a Hobby Lobby retail store. You’ll need your receipt in order to get a full refund, which may take up to two weeks to be issued. Your refund will come in the form you paid with (cash or credit).
Items being returned without a receipt may be eligible for exchanges or store credit, though you must bring a valid ID. Merchandise credit will be based on the lowest selling price in the last 60 days. Hobby Lobby reserves the right to limit or refuse to accept returns on certain products and non-receipted items.
Do I need a receipt for returns and exchanges?
Yes and no. With a receipt, you can return an item for a full refund within 90 days of purchasing. Without a receipt, you’ll receive a Hobby Lobby gift card in the amount of the lowest selling price in the last 60 days. This means that if your item went on sale at any point in the last 60 days (which at Hobby Lobby is likely), you’ll only be refunded for the sale amount, not the original purchase price.
