When Master Philip Sage isn't teaching self-defense techniques at Abilene Martial Art Center, he's often using them to disarm criminals or defuse potentially dangerous situations. That's because in addition to being a martial-arts instructor, Sage serves as a police officer, law-enforcement instructor, and SWAT-team member. During classes held at the studio, Sage and his team of experienced instructors teach children and adults self-defense moves with real-life applications. The classes, which are tailored to different age groups, boost self-confidence while simultaneously increasing physical fitness.
