Calling all animal lovers and Capybara enthusiasts! Come enjoy a 30-minute, hands-on experience with friendly Capybaras in the Walk-Thru Safari at African Safari Wildlife Park in Port Clinton, Ohio! Feed them snacks, feel their unique, coarse fur, and learn fascinating facts about the world’s largest rodent. You might even get the chance to give them a belly rub!

What We Offer

• 30-Minute Capybara Encounter:
  • Meet, feed, pet, and take photos with friendly Capybaras.
  • Limited to just 8 guests per encounter, ensuring an intimate experience.
  • Please note: Participants must be able to navigate uneven or potentially muddy terrain.
  • Guests aged 3–15 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Children under 3 years old are not permitted.
  • Limited to eight guests per Encounter.
  • General park admission is not required and is not included with this encounter.

Good To Know

• Vouchers must be redeemed online for a specific date and time before arriving at the park. Reservations are required.
• A ticket for the Capybara Encounter is required for every participant, including those who wish to take photos.
• The encounter will proceed as scheduled, weather permitting. In case of bad weather, you’ll have the option to reschedule.
• Encounters are available each morning from late spring to early fall.
• All encounters must be booked and paid for online in advance.
• Please arrive at the park at least five minutes before your scheduled encounter to ensure a timely start. Upon arrival, park near the administration building on the right side of the lot and honk your horn.
