About Anaheim White House
Everyone has heard of Washington DC's White House, but it has a sister on the West Coast—The Anaheim White House—an Italian steak house. The restaurant is popular with presidents, diplomats, rock stars, and famous athletes. Even Madonna and Gwen Stefani have frequented the establishment and feasted on their catering.
- Historic location: A historic colonial-style mansion originally built in 1909, the structure has been completely restored after a fire burned most of the restaurant. It took the entire community to rebuild it, and reopened in early 2018.
- Dining rooms: 10 in total at the restaurant, some of which are bedecked in murals worthy of the Sistine Chapel. All of them can be reserved for private dinners.
- Cuisine: An assortment of Italian dishes, like linguine with clams, along with braised beef with a porcini mushroom sauce and some unconventional creations. The most unconventional of all? The New York Times-endorsed steamed salmon with white chocolate mashed potatoes.
- Owner: Sir chef Bruno Serato, owner and restauranter of The Anaheim White House, emigrated here with $200 from Verona, Italy. When he arrived, he worked his way up from a server to an innovative and passionate chef.
- Charity work: Serato started a charity, Caterina’s Club, that now feeds over 4,000 motel children a night. Given his own humble beginnings, his heart was pulled to help feed the homeless children and he has won multiple, prestigious awards for his commitment to the cause.
