Sonographers grant expectant parents a brief glimpse into the womb via 2D, 3D, and 4D ultrasound technology. Although not to be mistaken as an alternative for regular doctor visits, these non-diagnostic sessions can generate a 3D image of your baby’s face, fingers, toes and in-utero rounds of “Where is Thumbkin?” Using the same technologies as two-dimensional methods, 3D ultrasounds send out multiple audio frequencies and compile the results into a three-dimensional image. 4D takes this one step further and adds in motion.

Despite living 3,500 miles away, Aleen Diaz was able to see her granddaughter before the baby was even born. This was possible thanks to ultrasound technology, and she still keeps those images with her today. Determined to share this sort of experience with others, Aleen founded Baby's First Photos. The facility's technicians use the most advanced 3D and 4D ultrasound technology available, allowing pregnant women and their families to see fully formed images of the baby, real-time movements and all. These scans become bonding experiences as groups gather in the viewing room, which can accommodate as many as 10 people and features a 100-inch screen with the live images. After the session ends, parents can order high-resolution color photos of their child and proudly share the pictures with friends, coworkers, and the zoo's storks.
