Bandera Natural History Museum exists today because of one man's vision. The museum's founder Juan Carlos Infante dreamed about creating a place where people of all ages and backgrounds could learn about the diversity of the Earth's wildlife. The venue was established in 2011 under the name of Bandera Exotic Wildlife Museum. Within a few years it turned into a 14,000-square-foot building covering the area of eight acres and featuring dozens of exhibits. In 2015 its name was changed to the current one. The museum is a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to educate the visitors on the abundance of the natural world and the importance of its conservation.
