Interested in trying something new? Dive into the fascinating world of glass blowing! This 1-hour class teaches safety, tool usage, and color application while guiding you in creating a ball or heart paperweight. Classes are held Thursday through Saturday with experienced instructors who ensure a fun learning environment.

What We Offer

A Taste of Glass for Two People

  • Learn the art of shaping molten glass on the end of a long pipe, softened by heat.
  • This 1-hour class includes instruction on safety, tool use, and color application.
  • Students will create either a ball or heart paperweight under the guidance of experienced instructors.
  • Classes are available Thursday through Saturday.

Things to Know:

  • Wear closed-toe shoes: Sandals are not permitted.
  • Choose natural fibers: Opt for cotton, linen, or good blends; avoid 100% synthetic fabrics. Shorts and T-shirts are ideal due to the heat.
  • Secure long hair: Tie back and secure hair to prevent it from falling forward.
  • Be punctual: Classes are tightly scheduled, so please arrive on time.

The brainchild of artist and entrepreneur JB Berkow, the Benzaiten Center for Creative Arts is a 14,500 square foot permanent arts center in South Florida with the honorable mission of providing a home for glass and metal sculpture artists. With a full-service glass studio and a metal works studio on the way, the center creates a space for local and international artists to meet and work together while engaging the public in their creative process. Visitors can watch work being created from a protected viewing area, and, if so inspired, take classes from artisans to make their own works of art.
