Eighty percent of America's cucumber crops go toward making pickles; the other 50 percent is distributed among spas for edible eye coverings. Harvest your senses with today's deal: for $125, you get a "day of beauty" (up to a $275 value) at blush a day spa in Sonoma.
Nestled amongst the grapey-purple fields of wine country, blush's intimate spa environment breaks up a Girls' Day Out of eating and imbibing with a healthy dose of TLC. The pampering program begins with your choice of a complexion perfection or purifying plus facial ($105). The 75-minute complexion perfection strengthens and de-ages the skin of your skeleton's Halloween mask with a concentrated blast of vitamins, antioxidants, plant extracts, and hydrators—leaving it silky smooth and glowing like radioactive honey. The 90-minute purifying plus is better suited to oily, problem, or melting skin, healing it with a combination of antibacterial and enzymatic ingredients. Next, you'll retire to the massage room for your choice of a 90-minute relaxation massage ($120) or copacabana body treatment ($150). The massage's gentle, soothing fusion of Swedish and Shiatsu techniques melts away tension and will make you feel like your soul is giggling. The copacabana, meanwhile, scrubs you down with pineapple and papaya, then massages you with warm coconut milk and kukui nut oil—transforming your body into the beachside tropical drink you fantasize about every time a coworker asks you to sign their rash. A final brow shaping ($20) will refine your eye-arches, allowing your face-emoticon to express emotions more nuanced than "angry Muppet."
All services are performed under the guidance of co-owner Dolores De Alba, an internationally trained aesthetician who has studied in Florence, Italy, and has worked with celebrities such as Jennifer Garner, Reese Witherspoon, and Alicia Silverstone. Her eclectic infusion of European-based beauty techniques and Eastern philosophy refresh the spirit as much as its vessel. About Blush a Day Spa
After completing her advanced aesthetics training at the Scuola d'Estetica Dorabruschi in Italy, owner Dolores De Alba brought her passion for skincare back to wine country, opening the complexion-focused blush a day spa with her husband and spa co-owner James. After entering the soft-colored salon, patrons slip into cozy robes and slippers and peruse a skin-perfecting treatment menu while sipping hot tea, volcanic mineral water, or champagne. Exotic ingredients pervade each treatment, with papaya, grapeseed, green tea, and rose clay extracted from Provence and sprinkled with rose buds helping technicians exfoliate skin, soothe musculature, and rebalance the body’s energies. The salon offers special packages for teens, brides-to-be, and men in need of TLC, customizing treatments to boost confidence or ease muscles sprained during staring contests.
