About Beyond Her Body

Bienvenido’s, Welcome! My name is Atalia Palomera and I am the founder of Booty and Brains. My Booty and Brians journey was inspired by my passion for Community, Spirituality and Overall Wellness. Our Booty is our biggest muscle in our body, and our Brain is our Mental health safe keeper which plays a key role in living the life we all desire and deserve. I am a dreamer. I am a first generation immigrant, born in Mexico and raised in the Central Valley.

In 2018 I completed a degree in social work. I chose social work because I have always wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and families, especially underprivileged families. For many years I worked as a mental health counselor, advocate, and social worker. I grew up dancing, and playing sports but I truly fell in love with fitness and self development during the pandemic. This is when I was no longer able to run away from my own unresolved trauma. At first I turned to the gym for superficial reasons but it quickly became an outlet for coping with life’s hardships. I came to understand the positive impact exercise has on our mental health and unquestionably knew this was my purpose. Hence, Booty and Brains was born.

Booty and Brains began with free community workouts at the park. I incorporated heartfelt conversations after our workouts to give us opportunities to reflect, release and relate. Five years later, I am now the person I have always dreamed of becoming, not just physically but spiritually and mentally as well. My wellness journey has led me to be sober, embrace self love, attract beautiful friendships, and most importantly it has led me to develop a stronger connection with God. Focusing on my overall wellness, and living in alignment with my values has transformed me and I hope to provide that guidance for all of you. Our Mission Statement is “To provide space for women to open their hearts by creating a community that focuses on physical health, mental healing, and social impact”. I have so much love and gratitude for each woman that I cross paths with. I can’t wait to hear your story, because It’s always been more than Fitness.
