Armed with a roster of both fresh and familiar faces, the Rox continue to mash through their first season as part of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Each summer, collegiate ballplayers from across the country amass in Massachusetts to give local fans a commercial-free sneak peak at the game's up-and-coming all-stars. Twenty-one-year-old outfielder and Norton, Massachusetts, native Sean Ryan has headlined this year's crop of crushers, compiling the team lead in batting average (0.413), hits (26), and stolen bases (7) in 16 games thus far. On the mound, 19-year-old pitcher Jonathan Rosenberger has been equally impressive, as he finished off June by earning FCBL's Pitcher of the Week honors, earning him lifetime immunity from being called a belly itcher.

Brockton's 54-game season slides to a finish on August 6, when the league's top four clubs advance to the playoffs. Until then, Campanelli Stadium's family-friendly vibes will be amplified by the Rox's competitive play, as well as giveaways and promotions. On Thursdays, fans can ditch the foul balls or hives of hornets nesting in their mitts and replace them with $2 draft beers. Kids age 12 and younger eat for free on Mondays; on Fridays, fireworks soar across the night sky following the final pitch.

About Brockton Rox

Visiting fans often have the same question—What is a Rox? The team's name and logo are actually tied to Brockton's history in a different sport: boxing. Legendary pugilists Rocky Marciano and "Marvelous" Marvin Hagler called Brockton their home, and since its inception, the Rox franchise has shared a fighter's spirit. The team used to K-O teams in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, until 2012, when it joined the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. There, the Rox provide a place for college ballplayers to hone their skills during the summer.
